ISLAMABAD, AUG 24: The 11th National Finance Commission (NFC) Award meeting has been scheduled for August 29 (Friday), with the federal government set to present financial data to the provinces during the session.
The development followed the formal approval of the commission by President Asif Ali Zardari, two days prior, with the Ministry of Finance issuing the official notification. A committee of federal ministers has already outlined the strategy for the upcoming award.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has been appointed chairman of the nine-member commission. The finance ministers of all four provinces will serve as members, with each province represented by one additional expert.
The provincial expert members include Nasir Mahmood Khosa (Punjab), Dr Asad Saeed (Sindh), Dr Musharraf Rasool (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and Dr Farmanullah (Balochistan).
