Security forces kill 22 Khwarij in North Waziristan operation

BANNU: A joint operation conducted by the Pakistan Army, police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Miryan area of Bannu resulted in the killing of 16 militants, including two key commanders linked to Fitna al-Khawarij, security sources said on Sunday.

According to security officials, the operation was launched on intelligence reports regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. During the intense operation carried out a day earlier, security forces successfully eliminated 16 militants and destroyed several hideouts used by the terrorists.

Among those killed were key militant commanders identified as Zamri Noor, accused of spreading fear and terror in the region, and Afghan militant commander Abdullah Saeed, security sources added.

The operation involved personnel from the Pakistan Army, CTD and police, who carried out coordinated action against the militants’ strongholds. Two police personnel embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire, officials confirmed.

Security sources stated that operations against terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij are continuing with full intensity across the region, with security agencies determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
