8 Pakistani motor mechanics brutally killed in Iran

ISLAMABAD, APR 12: Eight Pakistani nationals were found brutally murdered in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province in a tragic and disturbing incident near the Pakistan-Iran border.

The victims, reportedly hailing from Punjab’s Bahawalpur district, were discovered with their hands and feet tied, and all had been shot dead.

According to local sources, the massacre occurred in the remote village of Haizabad, located in Mehrestan district — around five kilometres from the city centre. The victims were residing and working in a workshop specializing in car painting, polishing, and repairs.

The deceased include Dilshad, his son Naeem, Jafar, Danish, Nasir, and others, all of whom were said to be motor mechanics. The assailants reportedly stormed the workshop during the night and opened fire, killing all occupants on site. Iranian security forces later recovered the bodies and cordoned off the area.

Authorities in Iran have launched an investigation into the targeted killings. So far, the attackers remain unidentified, though initial reports suggest the victims may have been targeted by an anti-Pakistan terrorist organization.

Due to the remoteness of the region, Iranian officials have yet to issue an official statement, but Pakistani embassy representatives have been dispatched to the scene to gather more information and ensure proper identification of the bodies.

A spokesperson from the Pakistani embassy in Tehran confirmed that efforts are underway to verify the identities and coordinate with local officials for further details. “We are in close contact with Iranian authorities. All necessary steps will be taken to support the victims’ families and ensure justice,” the official said.
