Senate chief wants Parliament House name changed

ISLAMABAD, May 18 (DNA): The Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani
formed a parliamentary committee to suggest a new name depicting
national and cultural values.

He wrote a letter to National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf
stating it was decided to form a parliamentary committee to propose a
new name for the Parliament House.

The chairman Senate designated Senators Irfan-Ul-Siddiqui, Senator Taj
Haider, Senator Shibli Faraz and Senator Manzoor Kakar as the members of
the Commitee from the upper house. He said that the the member are
carefully composed which comprises of four members from each house.

He further emphasised that together we can embark on this meaningful
endeavour and contribute to the preservation of our cultural heritage.

He said that the primary objective of this committee is to engage in
comprehensive discussions and deliberations drawing upon the diverse
expertise and perspectives of its members, to propose a selection of
suitable names.
