ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) General Secretary Omar Ayub Khan came down hard on Shehbaz Sharif for plunging the country into a quagmire of problems, who, he said, was now enjoying luxury life in London flats.
Reacting over electricity prices and massive bills received by poor Pakistanis, PTI Secretary General asked that the countrymen to get ready, as electricity price was going to be more expensive by Rs 5.63 per unit in September.
Omar Ayub said that all this thanks to PML-N and PDM fascist government during which the power tariff was increased from Rs. 16 to around Rs. 50 per unit.
He revealed that the biggest defaulters of power distribution companies’ dues were the government departments themselves that were in billions of rupees.
Omar Ayub Khan demanded that the defaulting government departments’ electricity should be cut instantly.
“The electricity amount is budgeted every year, so why are not they paying up,” he asked, adding that the Secretary and Principal Accounting Officer of the defaulting departments under him and her should be held responsible.
PTI Secretary General stated that if a poor persons meter was cut and taken away, then the same should be applied to all the government departments.
Meanwhile, PTI Central Punjab General Secretary Hammad Azhar said that due to the mismanagement of the last 17 months, the country had been grappling with the most serious crises i.e., inflation, economy, and violation of the constitution.
However, Hammad expressed his shock that despite these serious crises, all the power of the state and its resources has been busy in trying to arrest the balloon sellers for the last 24 hours instead of taking any tangible and solid measures to address the public woes.
