“President Xi’s idea of building A Community of a Shared Future is undoubtedly ‘the concept of the century’ – that means a lot for the present day world.”
This was expressed by Irfan Shahzad Takalvi, founding president of the Eurasian Century Institute (ECI), Islamabad in a special session with students of international relations, young and emerging scholars.
The session was organized by ECI in the wake of release of White Paper “A Community of A Shared Future: China’s Proposals and Actions” by State Council Information Office.
The document was released on September 26.
Mr. Takalvi explained that the idea becomes the most potent, pertinent and purposeful concept of the ongoing century. “It responds to multidimensional global challenges in a holistic manner,” he maintained.
He suggested that global community must come forward to join hands with China, in order to move towards practical implementation of these proposals and ideas coming up from Beijing, spearheaded by president Xi Jinping himself. He also hoped that global leaders gathering in New York for the 78th session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) must take serious note of these proposals and use the same for common global goals.
Mr. Takalvi also advised younger lot of researchers and academics to do thorough research on the concepts and proposals brought forward in the White Paper.
He concluded: “Understand the documents yourself, and help the world understand it better. That is how we can contribute towards its practical application for future generations.”
