Qatar envoy calls on Senate Chairman

CHAIRMAN SENATE, MUHAMMAD SADIQ SANJRANI EXCHANGING VIEWS WITH CHARGÉ D'AFFAIRS AT THE EMBASSY OF THE STATE OF QATAR, MR. ISSA BIN MUHAMMAD AL-DASAM AL-KUBAISI, AT PARLIAMENT HOUSE ISLAMABAD ON OCTOBER 12, 2023.

Islamabad, 12 October 2023: – Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani engaged in a constructive meeting with Issa Bin Muhammad Al Dasam Al-Kubaisi, the ChargĂ© d’affaires of the Qatar Embassy Islamabad, who called on him today at the Parliament House.

Discussions during the meeting centered around mutual interests, emphasizing bilateral relations, and fostering institutional cooperation. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the ongoing progress in trade, investment, and other collaborative endeavors between the two nations. Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani underscored the significance of the enduring and friendly ties between Pakistan and Qatar, highlighting mutual support during challenging times and the robust cooperation witnessed at international forums such as IPU, Asian Parliamentary Assembly, and others.

Addressing the substantial investment potential in Pakistan, particularly in Gwadar, Chairman Senate emphasized the favorable business environment for Qatari investors. He identified key sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and mining, where investments can significantly accelerate economic activities. Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to elevating its relationship with Qatar to a formidable political and economic partnership. The meeting also saw an agreement to enhance parliamentary cooperation and facilitate high-level exchanges.

Issa bin Muhammad Al-Dasam Al-Kubaisi, the charge d’affaires of the Qatar Embassy, acknowledged the investment opportunities in Pakistan, pledging to fully explore and capitalize on them. He emphasized the potential for further enhancement of bilateral relations through intensified trade and investment initiatives. Pakistan’s willingness to broaden cooperation across diverse fields was also acknowledged and reciprocated.
