ISLAMABAD, NOV 10 /DNA/ – Malaysian delegation led by Dr. Ajlal Hussain Shah visited the Punjab Pavilion at the LokMela. The delegation was welcomed by Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed.
Director Arts Council gave a detailed briefing to the delegation about the stalls and handicrafts in the Punjab Pavilion. Waqar Ahmed said on this occasion that the aim of the folk fair is to promote and preserve the arts, crafts, culture, folk music and storytelling skills of the province.Expert artisans are the guardians of dying crafts, which are happy to be gathered together in one place. In future, such fairs should be organized in other provinces of the country.
Handicrafts have the status of regular industry in Punjab. Presenting artisans from across the province at the national level is undoubtedly an achievement of the Punjab Arts Council.Artisans from every part of the province have been invited in the Punjab Pavilion, so that the entire province can be represented.
Assistant Director Arts Council Muhammad Suleman said that folk music along with handicrafts in Punjab Pavilion is entertaining the audience from morning till night.Foreign guests are entertained with Saag roti andlassi at the stalls. The Director Arts Council also presented a Buddha image to the Malaysian delegation.
