Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians Chairman Pervez Khattak asserted on Friday that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had returned to the country to get the cases against him “withdrawn.“
Addressing the workers’ convention in Mardan, the former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister took a swipe at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif. “Shehbaz Sharif had done nothing for the sake of uplifting KP in his tenure as the prime minister,” he said.

He bashed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, saying, “The former PTI chairman wanted to become the monarch by looking to introduce the presidential system in the country. The PTI founder indulged in enmity towards the state institution.”

Khattak said on Saturday that despite his party being relatively new, it is ready to contest the upcoming polls.
Expressing his thoughts in Peshawar, the former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister said: “The Supreme Court’s verdict on Friday had ended all the rumours revolved around holding the elections. We welcome the apex court’s verdict.”
“Those who are complaining about not having a level playing field should contest the elections,” Khattak said.
He recounted the contributions he made to KP. “We had rolled out the health card project in KP. The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had imposed restrictions on the health card.”

“We put forward to completely restore the health card in KP. Imposing the restrictions on the health card is tantamount to waging a fight against the people of KP. We will pour on the streets if the health card is not restored completely,” Khattak said.
