Islamabad: JAN 3 – Ambassador Azhar as the Chair of ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) presided over the second ACI Heads of Mission meeting at the High Commission of Malaysia, Islamabad. The meeting was attended by Heads of Mission from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Also present were officials from the ACI working group.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Azhar expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the ASEAN Mission in Islamabad for their cooperation in promoting ASEAN in Pakistan. He also welcomed the new High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Islamabad. He apprised the participants of the meeting that the handing over of the Chairmanship of ACI would be done in early January 2024.
Ambassador Azhar also thanked all the ASEAN Head of Mission for their contribution for the meeting and hoped that next year would bring more activities of ASEAN in Pakistan.
