PML-N expected to form the government after elections

ISLAMABAD, JAN 25: Former President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Dr. Shahid Rasheed Butt, said on Thursday that PML-N is expected to form the government after elections.

The overall economic conditions will improve, CPEC will take a boost, and relations with China, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and other Arab nations will improve if PML-N comes to power, he said.

However, he said, improving relations with Iran and Afghanistan would be challenging as ties with these neighbors have remained troubled.

Shahid Rasheed Butt said in a statement issued here today that the masses are hoping that PML-N will reduce inflation, unemployment and cost of living and improve overall economic conditions.

PML-N has always paid more attention to the economy than other parties, and the PML-N government will accelerate work on CPEC.

He said that in the present situation, the visit of the Chinese vice Foreign Minister is of paramount importance, and he has renewed his commitment to completing the CPEC.

The Chinese Vice Foreign Minister also pledged to enhance cooperation in IT, industry, agriculture, and human resources and said that China prefers relations with Pakistan and highly appreciates this friendship.

During the visit, he met with Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of the Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, and others. He also co-chaired the Fourth Meeting of the CPEC Joint Working Group on International Cooperation and Coordination.

Our leaders told the visiting minister that they are fully committed to the CPEC and it will be completed at all costs.

Shahid Rasheed Butt said that during the PML-N government, it was decided to make seventeen thousand forty-five MW of electricity under CPEC, build and improve railways and road systems on modern lines, upgrade ports, and establish mass transit projects.

The projects were to be completed by 2030, but during the subsequent governments, the pace of work on some projects was slower than expected.

So far, only 27 projects have been completed under CPEC, while 63 projects are still pending and must be completed by the new government as soon as possible, he said.
