KABUL: The Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, said that during the last 20 years, acts of terrorism have been carried out in Afghanistan in the name of human rights.
Speaking during the Institute of Diplomacy’s graduation ceremony, Muttaqi said that underdeveloped nations have always been treated unfairly in the name of human rights. He also emphasized the need for profession education in the country.
“Wasn’t Afghanistan bombed in twenty years under the name of terrorism or not? Hundreds of thousands of people were martyred, hundreds of thousands of people were imprisoned and tortured and even transferred to Guantanamo. A great crisis has passed, but no one has yet defined terrorism for what it is,” Muttaqi said.
In his speech, the Foreign Minister emphasized the provision of education in diplomatic departments in the country.
Some political analysts have different views about the roles of international countries in the last two decades in Afghanistan.
“They believe that their presence in Afghanistan has provided opportunities and challenges, and on the contrary, there is no doubt that their presence has faced challenges,” Javed Javed, a political analyst told TOLOnews.
“In the past twenty years, when the US and the partners of NATO came here in the name of eliminating terrorism, they did not have a correct definition of terrorism,” said Ahmad Khan Andar, a political analyst.
According to officials, the students in the Institute of Diplomacy are taught Arabic, Turkish, and Russian languages beside other subjects.
