KABUL, JUL 21: Today the national kankor exam results for the year 1403 (solar year) were announced by the National Examination Authority.

This year’s kankor exam was conducted in two sections: general and religious schools.

Atal Khan Rahimzoy, son of Mohammad Azim from Kabul province, secured the first position in this year’s kankor exam with a score of 359.61. He graduated from Habibia High School in this province.

Sayed Hamed Hashemi secured the second position with 357 points, Shafiullah Nizami third with 357.25 points, Ershad Ahmad took fourth with 357.15 points, and Safiullah Mohajer secured fifth position with 355.92 points.

The top three students have been admitted to the Kabul University Medical Faculty, and the other two have been admitted to Herat University.

The head of the National Examination Authority, Abdul Baqi Haqqani, said that 97,184 people participated in this year’s kankor exam, and out of this, 41,290 people were admitted to higher education, 1,301 people to evening faculties, and 2,140 people to semi-higher education.

The National Examination Authority announced that in the religious schools section, Zainullah Yousufi secured the first position with 315 points.

Zainullah Yousufi has been admitted to the Department of Jurisprudence and Law at the Faculty of Sharia of Kabul University.

Neda Mohammad Nadim, Acting Minister of Higher Education, said at the “Announcement of University Entrance Exam Results” ceremony that this year’s number of admitted students is higher compared to the previous year.

According to Nadim , there are no longer unqualified students in the universities who used to study “because of the power of money.”

Nadim said that in the past, universities were a place for the power struggle of powerful individuals, but this trend is no longer present.

Before the Islamic Emirate came to power, girls had secured the first position in the university entrance exam (kankor) for two consecutive years, but this year the exam was held without their participation.
