A new tourism brand will be developed for Uzbekistan. The contest should be completed by October. The current brand has been used since 2013.
TASHKENT: A new tourism brand will be developed for Uzbekistan, according to a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated 18 July.
The document states the purpose of creating a new brand as promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism product in both foreign and domestic tourism markets, and strengthening the country’s image as a safe destination for tourism and recreation.
The Tourism Committee has been tasked with holding a contest for creation of the new tourism brand by 1 October.
The current tourism brand of Uzbekistan was registered in 2013 (pictured above on an airplane).
The brand consists of the word “Uzbekistan” and silhouettes of mountains, a crescent and a dome. The logo is used at various events, on souvenir products, tourist transportation, airplanes and other carriers.
The decree stipulates the launch of the first “global tourism media campus” on the World Tourism Day, 27 September.
The plans to promote tourism also include attracting 50 foreign journalists, bloggers, vloggers and influencers with an audience of more than 10 million people In 2024−2025.
