Shavkat Mirziyoyev suggested mutual recognition of national ID cards in Central Asia

TASHKENT, AUG 10: At the consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries, the President of Uzbekistan proposed to study the issues of mutual recognition of national ID cards and the development of mass tourism products according to the principle of “One type – the whole region” in order to expand tourism exchange.

It is noted that the tourism sector is becoming a new driver of regional cooperation. The share of domestic regional tourist flow in countries has increased significantly in recent years .

The next inter-parliamentary forum of the countries of the region is planned to be held in the old city of Khiva next month.

In order to further strengthen the mutual understanding and solidarity of the peoples of the region, the President proposed holding a scientific forum dedicated to the practical aspects of regional identity formation.

In order to promote the “Central Asian Youth Agenda – 2030” and involve the young generation in cooperation programs, it was proposed to hold a regional youth competition of innovative ideas and projects.

An agreement on the adoption of the Central Asian educational and academic exchange program and mutual recognition of diplomas of the leading higher education institutions in the countries can also be developed.

It was also proposed to allocate scholarships for the study of talented students of the countries of the region based on mutual agreements.

To discuss these projects in detail, the first education forum of Central Asia will be held in Tashkent in October.
