Hammad Azhar resigns as president PTI central Punjab

ISLAMABAD, AUG 15: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Hammad Azhar on Thursday announced his resignation as the party’s Central Punjab president.

He made the announcement via the social media platform X, citing concerns over limited access to the party leadership and organizational decisions that were made without his consent.

The PTI leader clarified that he did not hold a press conference or make any deals in relation to his resignation.

He expressed his dissatisfaction with the direction the party’s organisation in Punjab had taken, highlighting that many decisions were made based on lobbying rather than merit. He also mentioned the restrictions on his movement, stating that he could not risk going to Adiala.

Hammad Azhar emphasized that his opinions were often overlooked in key decisions, and information provided to the party’s founder chairman was limited and one-sided.

Despite these challenges, the PTI leader remains committed to the party’s vision, though he felt compelled to step down from his leadership role due to the circumstances.
