QUETTA, SEP 08 (DNA) — Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on Sunday lauded the efforts of the management of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on creating opportunities for modern education and skills for overseas Pakistanis also which is ensuring that knowledge knows no borders.
Addressing the convocation of Allama Iqbal Open University Quetta Chapter, he said that Allama Iqbal Open University is a major source of imparting higher education in the country which simultaneously enlightens the minds of students from urban and rural areas of the country.
Jaffar Khan Mandokhail highlighted the uniqueness of AIOU providing education to students of any age, class and from all over the country. He expressed these views while addressing the participants of the convocation held at Noori Naseer Khan Cultural Complex on Sunday.
During the convocation, the graduates including 27 females were conferred with degrees and gold medals, which is an important milestone in their educational journey. Many distinguished guests, including Professor of Allama Iqbal Open University Dr Nasir Mahmood, Dean of Faculties, a large number of parents, teachers and graduating graduates attended the convocation.
Addressing the participants of the convocation, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail said that AIOU is considered to be one of the most prominent universities in the world due to its distance education system. He added it is gratifying that Allama Iqbal Open University paves the way for a bright future by harnessing modern digital information technology to produce skilled manpower as per modern market demands.
Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the new graduates of Allama Iqbal Open University and their parents. He said that a prestigious convocation is a testament to your success, dedication and perseverance.
He said that consistent with great wisdom and prudence which emphasizes on seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave. While congratulating AIOU on the successful convocation, he appreciated the conscious efforts of the Vice Chancellor and his entire team and said that he has high expectations from AIOU to continue the chain of imparting education and skills and stay up-to-date with the ever-changing world.
It may be mentioned that Allama Iqbal Open University has completed its fifty years of educational journey.
