PPP demands administrative powers in Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan divisions

LAHORE: With the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Zardari, PPP and PML-N leaders meet to discuss power sharing formula in Punjab.
According to sources, PML-N has agreed to give due share to PPP in Punjab government as two sides agreed to end their differences. Both sides join hands to set up power sharing formula implementation committee. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Governor Punjab will monitor the implementation of the formula.
Under the power sharing formula, the first phase of the plan has started from today. The chief secretary and IG Punjab, who participated in the meeting, were issued orders to do the work of the constituencies of the members of Pakistan People’s Party on a priority basis.
In the second phase, the PML-N has agreed to gradually include the PPP in the administrative powers of the four divisions of Punjab.
PPP has demanded administrative powers in Pindi, Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan divisions. PPP has raised concerns over obstruction in working relationship between Punjab Governor and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. PML-N leadership has assured PPP that matter between the Punjab Governor and the Chief Minister will be resolved.
Development projects of various constituencies of the People’s Party were also approved by the PML-N leadership. Deputy PM Ishaq Dar will brief PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif about the power sharing formula agreed with the PPP.
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar will oversee the legal aspects of the power sharing formula. It was also agreed that PML-N and PPP will not speak about their differences before the media.
