Fast-track passport facility expanded to 26 more cities

ISLAMABAD, JAN 20: The Directorate of Immigration and Passports on Monday announced the expansion of its fast-track passport service to 26 additional cities across Pakistan, bringing the total to 47.

A notification to this effect has also been issued.

The fast track service, previously limited to major cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, will now be available in several other regions to enhance public convenience.

According to the notification, residents of Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mianwali, and Bhakkar can now avail themselves of this expedited passport issuance facility.

The expansion also covers Kohat, Swabi, Swat, DI Khan, Bannu, Hangu, Abbottabad, and Haripur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Additionally, the service has been introduced in key cities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Bagh, Kotli, and Rawalakot.

This move aims to facilitate faster processing of passport applications for residents of these cities, who previously had to travel to larger urban centres to benefit from the service.

The fast track category allows applicants to receive their passports within an expedited timeframe, a service that is especially beneficial for those requiring urgent travel documentation.

Authorities expect the new arrangement to significantly reduce waiting times and travel expenses for citizens, ensuring greater accessibility to vital travel documentation.

The Directorate of Immigration and Passports has advised the public to contact their nearest passport offices for further details and to make use of the facility.
