ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties are considering to convene an all-parties conference (APC) in February to deliberate on critical political, economic, constitutional, and security matters, sources revealed on Wednesday.

Opposition leaders are advocating a united platform of democratic forces to address the pressing challenges facing the nation.

The alliance has outlined its agenda as prioritising constitutional supremacy and the restoration of the rule of law.

According to insiders, the APC is expected to invite stakeholders from various sectors, including legal experts, academics, farmers, and civil society representatives, ensuring a comprehensive dialogue on national issues.

The alliance has also reached out to political leaders, including former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, to discuss the APC proposal.

Over the past few days, the opposition has intensified consultations with different parties and leaders to find viable solutions to the country’s current crisis.

Notably, sources indicate that the opposition may contact former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry, urging him to join the alliance.

While Chaudhry has yet to decide on rejoining PTI, his potential involvement in the opposition alliance could bolster efforts to counter the government.

The APC, if materialised, aims to address the alleged government mismanagement that the opposition blames for the country’s ongoing crises and propose actionable solutions to set Pakistan on a corrective path.
