Vivo V50 launch reportedly set for February 17

Vivo’s upcoming V50 smartphone is reportedly set to launch on February 17 in India, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans. The device is expected to hit retail stores a week later, on February 24.

The Chinese smartphone maker has already unveiled the device’s design and specifications on its official website, though without confirming the launch date. Industry insiders connected to Vivo’s retail channels have shared these timeline details, which remain unofficial.

The V50 will showcase a triple camera system, featuring two 50MP rear sensors – a main camera with optical image stabilization and a 119-degree ultrawide lens. The front-facing camera also boasts a 50MP sensor with autofocus capabilities.

Key features include a substantial 6,000mAh battery supporting 90W wired fast charging. The device comes with enhanced durability certifications, sporting both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It will run on Android 15 with Vivo’s custom Funtouch OS 15 interface.

Consumers will have three color options to choose from: Rose Red, Starry Blue, and Titanium Grey. The phone’s design incorporates a quad-curved screen, though specific display specifications remain undisclosed.

The unusual timing of the official website listing, appearing nearly two weeks before the reported launch date, represents a departure from typical industry practices. However, this could indicate a new marketing strategy for this particular model.

As with all pre-release information, these details should be treated as preliminary until officially confirmed by Vivo.
