ISLAMABAD, MAR 3 /DNA/ – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has notified another four curricula in the disciplines of Political Science, Islamic Studies, Remote Sensing & GIS and Architecture revised through National Curriculum Review Committees (NCRCs).
The updated curricula aim to enhance academic standards, align with industry needs, and incorporate evolving market trends into relevant fields of study.
NCRCs comprised of eminent professors, senior faculty and distinguished scholars from academia, representation from accreditation councils, R&D organizations and industry experts from relevant disciplines.
NCRC meetings were chaired by Prof. Dr. Muqarrab Akbar (Political Science), Prof. Dr. Shah Mohyuddin Hashmi (Islamic Studies), Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman (Remote Sensing & GIS), and Ar. Muhammad Arif Changazi (Architecture). Mr. Hidayatullah Kasi, Deputy Director HEC facilitated the NCRC proceedings as Secretary.
The revised curricula focus on the academic standards such as nomenclature of the degree programme, eligibility criteria, programme learning outcomes, schemes of studies, course learning outcomes, degree award requirements and options for electives to accommodate the in-demand specializations in line with international standards, indigenous needs and market demand. Each curriculum offers guidance about level 05, 06 and 07 programmes of National Qualifications Framework.
HEC has advised universities to implement the revised standards in mentioned disciplines at the earliest, ensuring consistency and standardization in relevant education across Pakistan. The revised curricula are available on HEC website.
