ISLAMABAD — The Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Islamabad commemorated the 113th birth anniversary of the Great Leader His Excellency Kim Il Sung with a formal ceremony marked by speeches, and reaffirmations of solidarity between North Korea and Pakistan.
Choe Chang Man, Ambassador of the DPRK, led the proceedings and delivered a keynote address, in which he paid tribute to the legacy and enduring vision of Kim Il Sung. The ambassador lauded the Great Leader’s contributions to the foundation and development of the DPRK and underscored his philosophy of self-reliance and international cooperation.
Ambassador Choe also spoke at length about the longstanding and friendly relations between North Korea and Pakistan, emphasizing mutual respect and shared values. He expressed confidence that bilateral relations would continue to grow stronger in the years to come, with increased cooperation across multiple sectors.
“The deep-rooted friendship between our two nations is built on principles of sovereignty, independence, and mutual support,” he said. “We look forward to further enhancing these ties through continued dialogue and collaboration.”

Prominent Pakistani lawmakers, including Senator Abdul Qayyum Soomro and Senator Buledi, also addressed the gathering. In their remarks, they acknowledged the historical and diplomatic significance of DPRK-Pakistan relations and praised the people of North Korea for their resilience and national unity.
The event was attended by diplomats, government officials, journalists, and friends of the Korean people.
The 113th anniversary of Kim Il Sung’s birth — also known as the Day of the Sun — is one of the most important national holidays in the DPRK and is observed worldwide by North Korean missions and supporters.
