ISLAMABAD, APR 22 /DNA/ – The Sustainable Climate and Women Empowerment Initiative (SCWEI), in partnership with Al-Ilm Model School and Academy, Ittifaq Town, Kirpa Road, Islamabad, successfully conducted a comprehensive climate awareness session aimed at educating both students and teachers on the pressing issues of climate change and environmental sustainability.
The session was inaugurated by Mr. Jalil Khan, SCWEI’s Climate Change Consultant, who emphasized the urgent need to integrate climate change education into formal school curricula. He underscored the importance of equipping the younger generation with the knowledge and tools necessary to confront environmental challenges. Mr. Khan also elaborated on the scientific significance of the four layers of the atmosphere, deepening students’ understanding of Earth’s protective systems.
Following the opening address, SCWEI Executive Director, Mr. Asfandyar Khan, and General Secretary, Ms. Sidra Zaka, delivered impactful presentations focused on practical strategies for climate change mitigation. On the occasion, SCWEI General Secretary Ms. Sidra Zaka stated, “Addressing climate change effectively requires the active participation of every individual. Only through collective efforts can we ensure a safe and sustainable future.”Their talks inspired participants to actively engage in sustainability practices and environmental stewardship.
To acknowledge the school’s support and collaboration, FarhatJabeenKhattak presented a certificate of appreciation to the school principal.
The session concluded with a shared commitment to fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness within the school community, marking another step forward in SCWEI’s mission to build a more sustainable and climate-conscious society.
