Meeting Of Federal Minister For Finance And Revenue With World Bank Vice President For South Asia

WASHINGTON D.C: APR 23 (DNA):Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Mr. Martin Raiser, World Bank’s Vice President for South Asia, on the sidelines of the IMF/WB Spring Meetings in Washington D.C.

The Minister appreciated the approval of the World Bank’s 10-year Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Pakistan and thanked the Bank for its continued support towards Pakistan’s economic reforms, digitalization, and energy sector agenda.

He underscored the need for accelerated operationalization of the CPF and emphasized timely identification of projects to be implemented in specific sectors. Both sides agreed on the importance of increased private sector investment to generate employment opportunities.

Senator Aurangzeb also highlighted the need to remove implementation bottlenecks and proposed establishing an escalation mechanism to expedite project execution.
