RAWALPINDI, APR 24 (DNA):The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) held a powerful Solidarity Walk to express unwavering support for the people of Gaza and Palestine amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The walk was graced by the presence of His Excellency Dr. Zuhair Zaid, Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, and Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi.
Starting from the RCCI building and concluding at the Gymkhana Club, the walk saw a large turnout of members of the business community, civil society, chamber officials, and the general public. Participants carried Palestinian flags, banners, symbolic coffins, and chanted slogans condemning Israeli aggression.
Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi echoed strong sentiments for Palestine and people of Gaza, emphasizing Pakistan’s Government firm stance on the issue and supporting the business community’s efforts in raising awareness and aid.
In his address, Dr. Zuhair Zaid praised the overwhelming support from Pakistan and the business community, saying, “Thousands of Palestinians have been martyred by Israeli brutality. Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity is commendable.” He called for urgent Muslim unity, urging the Islamic world to “become the voice of the oppressed.”

RCCI President Usman Shaukat extended a heartfelt welcome to the dignitaries and expressed deep concern over the atrocities being committed in Gaza. “We strongly condemn the ongoing violence and demand immediate international intervention,” he said.

Speakers including former presidents reiterated the call for unity. “The Muslim Ummah is like one body — when one part suffers, the entire body feels the pain. We must rise together against this brutality.”
Trade representatives also announced a nationwide strike by Pakistani traders on April 26 to show solidarity with Palestine and urged a complete boycott of Israeli products, calling it a religious duty for all Muslims.
The event was attended by MPA and Parliamentary Secretary Punjab Ms Rizwana Shahid, women entrepreneurs, trader representatives, and civil society leaders — all united in a shared message of peace, justice, and solidarity.
