Pakistani drones hovering over India’s capital New Delhi

ISLAMABAD, MAY 10: Tensions between South Asia’s nuclear-armed neighbors escalated dramatically after Pakistani drones were reportedly seen flying over the Indian capital, New Delhi, in the wake of a recent military operation launched by Pakistan deep inside Indian territory.

According to sources, several Pakistani-made drones were sighted over the outskirts of New Delhi late last night.

Indian security agencies have launched an investigation to determine the nature, origin, and intent behind the drone activity. No official statement has been issued by Indian authorities so far.

The development comes just days after Pakistan’s military claimed it conducted a targeted operation against specific Indian military installations beyond the Line of Control. Pakistan’s military spokesperson described the action as a “measured response” to what they termed as repeated cross-border violations and attacks on civilian areas by Indian forces.

India’s Ministry of Defence has denied the Pakistani claims, asserting that no breach of its sovereign territory has occurred and affirming its preparedness to defend against any aggression.

Security analysts say the drone activity could signal a shift toward hybrid warfare, combining traditional combat with surveillance and cyber tactics. The incident has raised concerns about the increasing use of unmanned aerial systems in cross-border military strategies.

The international community has called for restraint and immediate diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation in a region already fraught with decades of hostility.
