ISLAMABAD, MAY 20 /DNA/ – The Prime Minister congratulated the entire Pakistani nation on the outstanding success of Operation Binyan Marsoos during the “Battle of Truth” and for crushing the enemy’s evil plans.
The government of Pakistan has approved the promotion of General Syed Asim Munir (Nishan-e-Imtiaz Military) to the rank of Field Marshal in recognition of his exceptional strategy and courageous leadership in ensuring the country’s security and defeating the enemy in the Battle of Truth.
Recent Challenges Faced by Pakistan – Discussion in Cabinet

In recognition of his outstanding military leadership, courage, and bravery in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and defeating the enemy, the cabinet approved Prime Minister’s proposal to promote General Syed Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal.
The Prime Minister also met with President Asif Ali Zardari and briefed him on this decision.
Other Key Decisions:
- The government unanimously decided to extend the service of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu after the completion of his term.
- The federal cabinet also decided to award high state honors to officers, soldiers, veterans, martyrs, and civilians who contributed greatly during Operation Binyan Marsoos.
