PM thanks Oman's Sultan for supporting Pakistan during escalation with India

ISLAMABAD, JUN 8: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed on Sunday gratitude to Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq for the country’s “balanced” stance during the recent Pakistan-India conflict.

According to details, in a telephonic conversation, PM Shehbaz appreciated the Sultan’s support for de-escalation and dialogue between the two countries. Both leaders had offered special prayers for unity and harmony within the Muslim world and for the well-being of the people of Gaza.

The prime minister had extended Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the Sultan and emphasised the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in all sectors between Pakistan and the Sultanate of Oman.

During the call, both leaders exchanged invitations for mutual visits. Sultan Haitham had accepted the invitation to visit Pakistan. The dates for these visits will be coordinated through diplomatic channels.

– PM Shehbaz extends Eid greetings to national leaders –

On the other side, PM Shehbaz had telephoned the chief ministers of all four provinces to convey Eid-ul-Azha greetings.

He personally extended wishes to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as well as Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM) convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

The provincial leaders had thanked the premier and also extended Eid greetings to him in return. All leaders expressed their good wishes for the prime minister and the country’s well-being.
