LAHORE, JUN 20: A second special flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) carrying stranded Pakistani citizens from Iran has safely arrived in Lahore, the airline’s spokesperson confirmed.

According to the spokesperson, the PIA flight departed from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, bringing back 121 passengers who had earlier traveled overland from Iran to Azerbaijan.

“Pakistani citizens present in Iran were transported to Baku via land routes, where they were then boarded on the special PIA flight,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson further added that Pakistani embassies in both Iran and Azerbaijan played a vital role in coordinating and facilitating the entire repatriation process.

This special flight operation was launched under the instructions of the Government of Pakistan, as part of efforts to ensure the safe return of nationals stranded abroad due to regional tensions and travel disruptions.

PIA continues to stand by its commitment to national duty in times of crisis, providing critical support to Pakistanis around the world.
