SUKKUR, JUN 26 (APP/DNA):Divisional Commissioner Sukkur,Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, on Thursday held an important meeting regarding security and other necessary arrangements during Muharram ul Haram in the conference hall of his office.
The meeting was attended by DIG Police Sukkur Faisal Abdullah Chachar, Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Dr M.B Raja Dharejo, Deputy Commissioner Ghotki Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Mirs Fayaz Hussain Rahuojo, SSP Khairpur Hassan Sardar Ahmed, SSP Ghotki Dr. Samiullah Soomro, Lt. Col. Atif Iqbal Khattak of Rangers, Chief Executive Officer SEPCO Ijaz Channa, Ulema from various schools of thought, members of organizations, officers of law enforcement departments, as well as officials from Sui Gas, municipal, and other relevant departments.
Addressing the scholars, Commissioner Sukkur Division said that separate meetings are also held at the divisional and district levels to review and implement the suggestions that emerge in meetings with scholars, peace committee members, and organizational representatives.
On this occasion, DIG Police Sukkur Faisal Abdullah Chachar stated that national and international circumstances must also be taken into account during Muharram ul Haram. He said that every effort would be made to maintain law and order in Sukkur Division during Muharram.
Chief Executive Officer SEPCO Ejaz Channa informed that during the days of Muharram processions and gatherings, uninterrupted electricity supply would be ensured from 6 or 7 PM for next six hours. Additionally, standby generators and two standby transformer trolleys would also be arranged for important programs. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of Sukkur, Khairpur Mirs, and Ghotki districts briefed about the meetings held so far with scholars and members of district peace committees regarding Muharram in their respective districts.
Deputy Commissioner Ghotki Syed Muhammad Ali Shah informed the meeting that after consultations with Ulema from different schools of thought, it has been decided that proper arrangements for street lighting and cleanliness will be made along the routes of processions and gatherings. Additionally, no new gatherings will be permitted, the code of conduct and Loudspeaker Act will be enforced, and Rescue 1122 ambulances and fire brigade vehicles will remain on standby. Moreover, leaves of government employees associated with administrative departments have been canceled from the 1st to the 13th of Muharram ul Haram.
Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Dr M.B Raja Dharejo provided updates on necessary arrangements during Muharram, including security, provision of portable washrooms, and road repairs. Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Mirs Fayaz Hussain Rahujo also shared details about municipal services, traffic plans, and medical facilities arranged in the district during Muharram.
