ISLAMABAD, JUL 2 /DNA/ – National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) organised a two-hour online training workshop on the “Understanding of Quran Course” (Fehm-ul-Quran), specially designed for faculty members of Balochistan universities.
This initiative, launched by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan is part of the orientation programme for a two-credit hour course being implemented at the undergraduate and graduate levels across Pakistan from Fall 2025. It is highlighted that for this HEC initiative, NAHE is conducting a series of orientation workshops and this was the second workshop of the series exclusively organized for the public and private sector universities of Balochistan.
Addressing the opening session, Managing Director NAHE Dr. Noor Amna Malik provided an overview of the programme and highlighted its significance in fostering a deeper understanding of the Quran. She emphasised that HEC is committed to extending training opportunities across all regions of Pakistan through this initiative. She underlined that some workshops will be conducted online, others will be held in person to ensure greater accessibility and outreach.
The workshop featured Dr. Ubaid ur Rehman Bashir as the resource person, who shared insightful perspectives on the structure, content, and andragogical approach of the course. The participants from all public and private universities from Balochistan attended the session and appreciated the initiative, expressing their keen interest in integrating the course content into their academic responsibilities.
The session concluded on a positive note, with participants thanking NAHE and HEC for their proactive efforts in enhancing academic and spiritual learning through well-structured training. The workshop marks a significant step forward in preparing faculty for the effective implementation of the Understanding of Quran Course nationwide.
