SIALKOT, JUL 4 (APP/DNA):The main procession of 7th Muharram in Sialkot ended peacefully after Fajr prayers.
The mourning procession reached the shrine of Imam Ali-ul-Haq along its traditional routes.
The procession was supervised by Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) (General) Ayub Bukhari.
According to a spokesperson,police officials,large number of mourners and Coordinator District Peace Committee Hafiz Asghar Ali Cheema were also present.
The Punjab government arranged “sabeels and langar” for the mourners along the routes of the mourning procession.
Rescue 1122 and Civil Defence also performed their duties along the procession.
ADC (General) Ayub said that the role of the peace committee and scholars and reciting scholars was key for a peaceful Muharram.
He said that all departments are performing their duties diligently during Muharram.
