BIMINGHAM, JUL 9: Former England captain Michael Vaughan on Wednesday lauded Indian Test captain Shubman Gill for putting up “herculean” efforts with the bat against England in the second match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in Birmingham.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Vaughan acknowledged the batting prowess of Gill, who racked up 430 runs in the second Test against the hosts.
“He is the next superstar,” Vaughan on the 25-year-old Indian batting sensation.
It is pertinent to note that Gill had joined Brian Charles Lara, Mark Taylor, Graham Gooch, and Kumara Sangakkara in the list of the batters with over 400 runs (in both innings) in a Test match.
