ISLAMABAD, JUL 9 /DNA/ – Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan visited the FPCCI Capital Office. On this occasion, Federation President Atif Ikram Sheikh, Vice President Tariq Jadun, Chairman Capital Office Kareem Aziz Malik, Chairman Coordination Malik Sohail, Rashid Humayun, Convener FPCCI Central Standing Committee , and others welcomed him. In his address, Syedal Khan Nasir stated that the business class plays a crucial role in the country’s development and job creation. He emphasized the need to move beyond mere transactional relationships between the public and private sectors. “We need a new social contract that guarantees transparency, security, and ease of doing business, and the business community commits itself to fair taxation, compliance with rules, provision of employment opportunities, and inclusive development,” he said.

He further added, “It is a great honor and privilege for me to address this esteemed gathering of Pakistan’s most dynamic business minds and economic leaders.” He paid tribute to the business community for its tireless services to the national economy, stating that the FPCCI has long served as a bridge between government policy and economic potential.

The role of the business community is vital in the country’s development and provision of employment opportunities, and across the nation, the business community expands industry and advances innovation for economic acceleration. The Deputy Chairman Senate said, “As Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan, I assure you that the Upper House is committed to economic reforms, legislative stability, and inclusive development. Our committees, particularly those related to commerce, finance, industry and production, and planning, are actively consulting with stakeholders to remove regulatory hurdles, ensure policy consistency, and strengthen Pakistan’s competitiveness in regional and global markets.

We need a new social contract – a covenant that guarantees transparency, security, and ease of doing business, and the business community commits itself to fair taxation, compliance with rules, provision of employment opportunities, and inclusive development,” he reiterated. He added that this partnership should not be guided by short-term gains but by long-term national development. Syedal Khan stated that the Senate is ready to listen, legislate, and lead where necessary. “But for true change, all of us, both the public and private sectors, must move in the same direction,” he stressed. He concluded by saying, “Let us choose unity over division, reform over stagnation, and courage over comfort.”

On this occasion, Federation President Atif Ikram Sheikh stated that the country has seen economic improvement in the last two years, with an increase in GDP growth. He noted that the inflation rate in the country decreased from 40% to 2-3% during the past two years, and the economy stabilized due to the government’s strict economic measures. He expressed full support for the government’s efforts for economic improvement, adding, “For economic development, like other countries, we also need to uplift our industry.” He supported the government’s efforts for a cashless economy but requested awareness on the matter. He emphasized that the business community and FPCCI should also be taken into confidence regarding economic policies.
