Chairman presides over 13th CDA board meeting

ISLAMABAD: (July 10, 2025): The 13th meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board was held at CDA Headquarters, Islamabad, which was chaired by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by Member Administration & Estate Talat Mehmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafiz and Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, while Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, joined via Zoom link. Various agenda items were discussed in the 13th CDA Board meeting, the details of which are as follows: 

In light of the Islamabad High Court’s decision, the CDA Board approved conditional restoration of Plot No. 6, Blue Area, Sector G-8/F-8, Islamabad, till  the final decision on CDA’s appeal in the Supreme Court of Pakistan in this case.

The Board approved the restructuring of the CDA Security Directorate in order to further enhance its efficiency,  improve the monitoring system, as well as ensure internal accountability on merit.

The 13th CDA Board meeting also decided to reorganize the Enforcement Directorate CDA in order to remove illegal encroachments and illegal constructions in Islamabad as well as sealing of unauthorised buildings thus contributing to making the city developed, clean, green and beautiful. 

The Board approved amendments to the existing criteria for the promotion of CDA’s non-gazetted employees. 

A committee was formed to review and recommend the extension of employment for project employees of CDA Hospital, examining all legal aspects before a final decision is made. 

A briefing was given on improving the operations of metro and aircondtioned electric buses. The Board decided to further enhance the efficiency of electric bus operations by introducing third-party evaluations, e-ticketing, and an AI-based integrated system for passengers. 

Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, said that the development and prosperity of Islamabad are CDA’s top priorities. While CDA is executing development projects across various sectors, it is also taking measures to address the housing needs of the citizens of Islamabad with best of its abilities. Additionally, efforts are also underway to improve the city’s environment by planting eco-friendly trees and upgrading parks and grounds. Furthermore, CDA is utilizing its resources generated through different sources by CDA itself in order to fund development projects, ensuring Islamabad becomes a model Capital.
