PESHAWAR, Jul 17 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the future of Pakistan is deeply linked with its youth and emphasized their vital role in promoting national unity, peace, and progress.
He stressed that it is a collective responsibility to mentor and guide the younger generation to play a constructive part in society.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar in Peshawar as the chief guest. The seminar focused on the role of youth in national cohesion, development, and prosperity. It was attended by a large number of young people from across the province, including the merged tribal districts. Representatives from UNODC, NACTA, Chef International, and SSTD, along with Additional IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Ali Babakhel and former Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council Dr. Qibla Ayaz, were also present.
The Governor distributed shields among tribal youth participating in the seminar and congratulated NACTA, Chef International, and SSTD on organizing the event on such an important topic.
Speaking on the challenges faced by the merged districts, Governor Kundi lamented that despite their formal merger, the promises made to these regions remain unfulfilled.
“Funds should be released as per commitments. Unfortunately, the merged districts are currently caught between the provincial and federal governments,” he said.
He stressed the importance of tribal representation in decisions related to their future, including the restoration of the traditional Jirga system.
He acknowledged the frustrations of tribal youth who feel left behind compared to other regions and called for their inclusion in the mainstream to secure their future.
Highlighting the need for national cohesion, Governor Kundi urged youth to rise above religious, linguistic, and regional biases and embrace Pakistani identity.
He encouraged them to spread messages of peace, tolerance, and brotherhood to replace hatred with harmony in society.
He further stressed the importance of skill development, self-reliance, and acquiring modern expertise in fields such as business, education, and IT.
“Youth engagement is among my top priorities,” he said. “Our young generation is not just the leaders of tomorrow but the builders of today. Their positive mindset, energy, and enthusiasm are a guarantee for Pakistan’s bright future.”
