Attock Police crack down on law violators and drug dealers — 16 suspects arrested

Attock 22 July /DNA/— Attock police have launched a series of successful operations, arresting a total of 16 individuals for violations of Section 144 and drug trafficking.

According to details, Attock Khurd police registered a case against 12 individuals for openly violating Section 144, which prohibits bathing and boating in the River Indus as per the Punjab Government’s orders. Despite being warned, the suspects created chaos and chanted slogans at the Attock Khurd point of the river. The police arrested all 12 violators on the spot. The arrested individuals including Amjad Ali s/o Rasheed Khan (Peshawar), Usman Ali s/o Sher Muhammad (Nowshera), Dr. Suleman Azam s/o Muhammad Azam (Karak), Shahsawar s/o Niaz Ali (Nowshera), Muhammad Younas s/o Haji Allah (Peshawar), Abdul Basit s/o Sher Akbar (Peshawar), Arbaz Khan s/o Nadir Khan (Peshawar), Jehanzaib s/o Ali Akbar (Peshawar), Muhammad Umar s/o Ghulam Farooq (Peshawar), Ali Akbar s/o Syed Akbar (Peshawar), Abdul Wahab s/o Saleem Ameer (Peshawar), Shafiq s/o Roz Ali (Nowshera)

All suspects were detained and locked up at the police station.

In a separate anti-narcotics campaign, four drug dealers were arrested and large quantities of narcotics were seized. Hazro police, during a search operation near Chhachh Interchange, arrested Danish s/o Shakeel Ahmed (resident of Bara Hazro) and recovered 1,350 grams of hashish and 50 grams of ice (methamphetamine).

Attock Khurd police arrested Jameel s/o Fida Hussain (Attock City) with 1,440 grams of hashish.

ASI Yasir Ali, in charge of the Mankor Khushal Garh police post, arrested Rashid Mehmood s/o Muhammad Aslam (resident of High School Nara Jand) and seized 1,100 grams of heroin.

Meanwhile, Saddar Attock police arrested Muhammad Arif s/o Muhammad Yousaf (resident of Mirza) with 580 grams of hashish. Separate FIRs have been registered against all suspects, and further investigations are underway.

The District Police Officer (DPO) of Attock emphasized that operations against lawbreakers and drug traffickers will continue without discrimination to ensure peace and security in the district.
