Attock bans gas cylinders in student transport vehicles

ATTOCK 29 Aug,Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza has said that there will be no permission to install gas cylinders in commercial and educational transport vehicles carrying students, and strict action will be taken against such transport.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of the District Coordination Committee. Additional Deputy Commissioner General Anil Saeed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance & Planning Nosheen Israr, Secretary RTA Sardar Zaheer Ahmed Khan, officers of law enforcement agencies, and other concerned officials were also present.

During the review of departmental performance, the meeting was informed that:

From July 1 to July 31, 16,631 challans were issued by the traffic police.

18 illegal petrol pumps were sealed, and fines amounting to Rs. 148,000 were imposed.

In action against illegal sale of gas cylinders, 45 shops were sealed, and fines of Rs. 210,000 were imposed.

To curb the smuggling of Iranian petrol, 10 shops were sealed, and fines of Rs. 70,000 were imposed.

Under the anti-encroachment campaign, 620 operations were carried out, and fines of Rs. 140,000 were imposed.

During the anti-electricity theft campaign, 59 illegal connections were detected, 46 people were arrested, and fines of more than Rs. 3 million were imposed.

As part of the anti-beggary campaign, 23 people were arrested.

The meeting participants were further informed that all arrangements regarding Rabi-ul-Awwal have been completed.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Attock said that actions under the National Action Plan will continue without interruption.
