ISLAMABAD, SEPT 5: A case of impersonation came to light during a hearing of a fraud case at Islamabad Kacheri, when a proclaimed offender sent his friend to appear in court on his behalf.
The incident occurred in the courtroom of Additional Sessions Judge Jahangir Awan. Bilal Khan, who had been declared a proclaimed offender, arranged for a man named Shahid Kareem to appear before the court in his place.
When the court dismissed the bail plea and ordered that the man be sent to jail, he requested to be brought back before the judge. Upon returning to the courtroom, he admitted that he was not the actual accused.
Following this, a case was registered against the impersonator, who was subsequently arrested. Later, police from the Lohi Bher police station also arrested the real proclaimed offender.
Both men are expected to appear together at the next court hearing.
