ICCI, FPCCI leadership determined to promote pro-business environment: Sardar Tahir Mehmood

ISLAMABAD, SEP 15 (DNA) – President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Atif Ikram Sheikh visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Monday to felicitate Sardar Tahir Mehmood, President ICCI, Tahir Ayub, Senior Vice President, and Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry, Vice President, on their unopposed election and assumption of offices. He extended warm congratulations to the newly elected leadership of ICCI and expressed his best wishes for their successful tenure.

Earlier, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, along with Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub and Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry, paid a goodwill visit to FPCCI, presented a bouquet to the FPCCI President as a gesture of fraternity and solidarity between the two premier chambers.

During the exchange of visits, both sides held fruitful discussions and reaffirmed their strong resolve to work in close coordination for the promotion of a business-friendly environment in the country. They emphasized that joint advocacy by FPCCI and ICCI would play an instrumental role in addressing the challenges being faced by the business community and in promoting the collective interests of trade and industry at national and international levels.

The leadership of FPCCI and ICCI agreed that close collaboration between the two chambers is essential to tackle regulatory hurdles, high cost of doing business, and other impediments that are hampering economic growth.

FPCCI President Atif Ikram Shaikh reiterated his commitment to strengthen mutual cooperation and advocacy with the government for pro-business policies that can boost investment, encourage industrial expansion, and enhance Pakistan’s role in regional and global markets.

ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood underscored the need for policy consistency, investment-friendly reforms, and improved ease of doing business to ensure sustainable development and competitiveness of Pakistan’s economy.

He added that most of the issues of the business community of Islamabad are related to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and that both the FPCCI and the ICCI will jointly work to overcome them to make the capital city an investment friendly place in real sense for the national as well international investors.

On this occasion former Vice President FPCCI Mohammad Ejaz Abbasi, Chairman Capital Office Karim Aziz Malik, Chairman Coordination Malik Sohail Hussain, ICCI executive Board member Zulqurnain Abbasi,  former SVP Khalid Chaudhry and others were also present.
