Kashmir Council Europe Mourns Demise of Veteran Kashmiri Leader Prof. Abdul Ghani Bhat

BRUSSELS, SEPT 18: Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of veteran Kashmiri leader Professor Abdul Ghani Bhat, former chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) and former president of Muslim Conference Jammu Kashmir (MCJK).

Prof. Bhat, a prominent intellectual, academician, and political leader, passed away at the age of 89 in Sopore, occupied Kashmir, on Wednesday.

Paying rich tribute to the late leader, Ali Raza Syed described Prof. Bhat as “an unparalleled advocate for the rights of the people of Kashmir,” praising his wisdom, vision, and powerful oratory in highlighting the Kashmir dispute on global platforms.

“Prof. Bhat will always be remembered in the history of Kashmir for his vision, expression, statesmanship, and tireless advocacy for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people,” the KCEU chief said.

Calling his demise a “great loss for the ongoing freedom struggle,” Ali Raza Syed extended heartfelt condolences to Prof. Bhat’s family and the Kashmiri people, praying for eternal peace of the departed soul.
