HEC, AIOU organize training on open and distance learning

ISLAMABAD, OCT 7 /DNA/ – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) launched a five-day Capacity Building Training on Open and Distance Learning (ODL).

The inaugural ceremony, held at AIOU’s Academic Complex in Islamabad, marks the commencement of a nationwide series of regional workshops planned by the Quality Assurance Division of HEC for selected universities across the country.

The event was graced by Ms. Aayesha Ikram, Director General (Global Engagement) HEC, and Mr. Nasir Shah, Director General (Quality Assurance), HEC, as Guests of Honour.

This crucial training initiative aims to significantly strengthen institutional capacity within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for the effective implementation of the HEC’s ODL Policy 2024.

Furthermore, it is designed to enhance participants’ competencies in critical areas essential for modern distance education, including e-learning methodologies, instructional design principles, ICT integration, and quality assurance in distance education.

The workshop brings together key faculty and administrators from various HEIs to foster collaboration, promote innovation, and drive excellence in Open and Distance Learning, ultimately expanding educational access and quality across Pakistan.
