RAWALPINDI, Oct 23 (DNA):The Pakistan-South Africa Test match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium concluded Thursday amid foolproof security and effective traffic management by the Rawalpindi Police.
Over 5,500 police personnel performed security duties, while more than 367 officers managed traffic arrangements to ensure smooth movement around the stadium and adjoining areas.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, SSP Investigation, and other senior officers remained in the field throughout the matchdays to personally monitor the arrangements.
According to a police spokesman, the event was continuously monitored through Safe City and other CCTV cameras, while police mobiles, Dolphin and Elite Force teams patrolled the stadium’s surroundings to maintain law and order.
CPO Hamdani commended the efforts of all officers and personnel who contributed to the success of the international event. He also thanked the security agencies and the district administration for their close coordination in ensuring foolproof security and traffic arrangements.
He further expressed gratitude to the business community, media, civil society, and citizens for their cooperation, adding that the Rawalpindi Police remained fully committed and prepared to maintain peace and provide security for both national and international events.
