Jane Marriott welcomes PIA’s return to UK skies, ushering in fresh chapter of partnership

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (DNA):In a move that underscores growing collaboration between Pakistan and the UK, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott on Saturday welcomed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) back to UK skies, marking a milestone in strengthened ties and connectivity.

Through social and media channels, Marriott recognized PIA’s milestone, saying, ‘Today, October 25, PIA embarks on its inaugural flight to Manchester, marking the historic return of a Pakistani carrier to the

UK’.

She described PIA’s return as a positive milestone, appreciating the efforts of both governments in facilitating the airline’s comeback and noting that the new route would strengthen ties between the people of Pakistan and the

UK.

“The Islamabad-to-Manchester flight opens a fresh chapter in Pakistan-UK relations,” she

added.

The High Commissioner added that restoring air connectivity would enhance trade and tourism while easing travel for the sizeable Pakistani community in the UK.

British officials have also lauded PIA’s leadership for enabling the long-awaited return, noting that the national carrier is now fully prepared to resume flights over British skies.
