Expressing his appreciation, Mr. Lukas MANDL, Chair of the DEVE mission, said: “I’m extremely impressed and grateful for the hospitality and warm welcome from the local community. They opened their hearts to us, and we have opened ours to them. The key challenges communities face in Pakistan can only be overcome by transforming systems related to agriculture, housing, education, especially girls’ education, and by creating more opportunities for women across various sectors.”
The visit reaffirmed the ECHO strong commitment to supporting Pakistan in building resilience against natural disasters and climate-induced challenges. While working closely with government institutions, humanitarian partners, and local communities to strengthen disaster risk governance, promote early warning mechanisms, and reduce the vulnerability of at-risk populations.
