CECOS University Hosts “AI and Emerging Tech Summit 2025” — A Landmark Event Showcasing Innovation, Collaboration, and the Future of Artificial Intelligence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
PESHAWAR, NOV 5 (DNA): CECOS University of IT and Emerging Sciences proudly hosted the AI and Emerging Tech Summit 2025, a one-day event dedicated to advancing dialogue, learning, and innovation in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Organized by the Center for Digital Governance and Agentic Innovation (CDGAI), the summit brought together students, researchers, and industry professionals for an engaging day of competitions, workshops, and expert discussions.
The summit featured a diverse lineup of activities including an expert panel discussion, AI Prompt Challenge, a Poster Competition, and parallel technical workshops, all aimed at fostering creativity, technical learning, and cross-sector collaboration.
A panel discussion brought together a distinguished lineup of experts from academia, industry, and government, including:

The discussion explored the evolving AI landscape in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, touching upon themes such as Edu-Tech & Personalized Learning, Embedded AI, Game Development, Agriculture, Architecture, Medicine, and Genetics. Panelists emphasized the growing importance of cross-sector collaboration in enabling sustainable AI integration and innovation across the province.
The AI One Prompt Challenge saw enthusiastic participation from 10 teams. Mr. Naveed, a Software Engineering student at CECOS and intern at AptechSoft, impressed the judges with his exceptional AI prompt design, earning him the first-place position in the competition.
The Poster Competition drew an impressive 27 teams from various departments and institutes, each presenting innovative ideas and visual storytelling around emerging technologies. Mr. Maaz and Ms. Hina Khan, both from the Department of Software Engineering at CECOS, secured first place for their outstanding work.
Two parallel technical workshops—focused on Agentic AI, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision—were conducted, attracting around 60 participants from institutions including the University of Agriculture Peshawar, UET Peshawar, Women University Swabi, Khushal Khan Khattak University, and The Edex School. These sessions provided hands-on learning experiences for students and professionals eager to enhance their AI skills.
During the Closing Ceremony, winners were presented with cash prizes, while workshop trainers, panelists, and event leads received shields and souvenirs in recognition of their contributions.
Dr. Mohsin Khan, Vice Chancellor of CECOS University, commended CDGAI for organizing the summit and highlighted the transformative role of AI in reshaping the education sector. Dr. Naseer Ahmad (Advisor to the President, CECOS University & Advisor to the CMPO) shared an overview of the event’s strong participation and remarked that this summit marks the beginning of a larger journey toward making AI Summit KP a recurring platform connecting academia, industry, and government to accelerate AI adoption in the region.
A special shield of appreciation was also presented to Engr. Waqar Khan (CMPO) for his invaluable contributions to the event.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Maryam Mahsal, Director of the Center for Digital Governance and Agentic Innovation (CDGAI), extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants, collaborators, and institutions whose efforts made the AI and Emerging Tech Summit 2025 a resounding success.
