Afridi calls for immediate release of KP's financial dues from centre

Peshawar, NOV 16: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi called for the immediate release of the province’s financial dues from the federal government.

Addressing the inauguration of the Peshawar Beautification Project, he said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s share in the NFC Award stood at 19.4 per cent, under which the province should receive Rs400 billion. He urged the centre to meet its responsibilities and to end what he termed as “step-motherly treatment” of the people of KP.

Afridi said the government held a 90 per cent public mandate across the province and would not disappoint its citizens. He said the administration would deliver more on this occasion.

The KP CM said Peshawar belonged to all and that it was everyone’s duty to make it as beautiful as possible. He said the people of KP had made the greatest sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and added that Rs2,200 billion in net hydel profit remained outstanding.
