OGDCL Ittehad Union Delegation Meets Secretary Workers Welfare Fund

ISLAMABAD, DEC 2  — A delegation of the OGDCL Ittehad Union of All Pakistan Employees (Registered CBA), led by Mr. Zahid Hussain Bhutto, Member Governing Body WWF and President of the Union, held an important meeting with Secretary Workers Welfare Fund, Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad, at the WWF Secretariat on Tuesday. The meeting focused on key welfare matters concerning OGDCL workers and their families.

The delegation briefed the Secretary on challenges faced by workers’ children regarding admissions and fee payments in various educational institutions. Issues related to Marriage and Death Grants, Hajj quota, and ongoing housing schemes were also highlighted. The union representatives presented detailed recommendations to improve service delivery.

Secretary WWF, Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad, reaffirmed that under the special directions of the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain comprehensive and result-oriented reforms for workers’ welfare are actively underway. He shared that WWF is moving toward full digitalizationand a new mobile application will soon be launched. Through this app, workers will be able to track their cases, access updates, and manage welfare-related services directly from home. All educational institutions will also be linked to the system to ensure smooth facilitation without delays.

The Secretary further clarified that no Marriage or Death Grant case is currently pending and the Fund welcomes practical recommendations from the union to further improve the process. He also emphasized that under the current Hajj policy, deserving workers are being facilitated to perform Hajj through a transparent and structured mechanism.

Regarding housing projects, Secretary WWF assured that the allotment of houses and flats will be carried out strictly on merit and in full transparency. He also committed to placing the union’s proposals before the upcoming Governing Body meeting for formal consideration.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the Secretary WWF and commended the efforts of the Fund in expanding welfare initiatives. They expressed confidence that the ongoing collaboration for the betterment of industrial workers will continue with the same dedication in the future.
