ISLAMABAD, DEC 22 /DNA/ – Chief Executive Officer, Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBOIT), Qaim Lashari, visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Monday and held a meeting with its leadership to explore potential collaboration opportunities between BBOIT and ICCI aimed at promoting investment, trade and joint ventures.
Both the sides agreed to jointly organize a mega event at the earliest possible time at ICCI auditorium to showcase the investment and export potential of Balochistan.
Qaim Lashari highlighted the vast investment potential of Balochistan in key sectors including minerals, agriculture, fisheries, livestock, energy and tourism. He stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between the business communities of Balochistan and Islamabad to unlock these opportunities and convert them into concrete economic outcomes.
The CEO BBOIT emphasized that closer institutional collaboration between BBOIT and ICCI could play a vital role in identifying viable areas for joint ventures, facilitating B2B linkages and encouraging private sector participation in Balochistan’s development initiatives. He invited ICCI members to explore investment opportunities in the province’s Special Economic Zones and priority sectors, assuring full facilitation and policy support to investors.
President ICCI, Sardar Tahir Mehmood, warmly welcomed the CEO BBOIT and said that ICCI was keen to work closely with BBOIT to promote inter-provincial trade and investment. He stated that Islamabad’s business community had strong interest in investing in Balochistan’s resource-rich sectors and underscored the need for joint business forums, investment roadshows and delegation exchanges to enhance mutual engagement.
Additionally, President ICCI said that the Chamber would fully support initiatives aimed at connecting investors with credible projects in Balochistan. He noted that closer collaboration between chambers would help bridge information gaps, promote joint ventures and enable the business community to benefit from emerging opportunities, particularly under CPEC and provincial development frameworks.
Senior Vice President ICCI said that enhanced cooperation between ICCI and BBOIT would help create new business opportunities, strengthen private sector confidence and contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth. He emphasized the importance of regular interaction and effective information sharing between the two institutions.
He also observed that joint efforts by ICCI and BBOIT could significantly improve awareness about investment incentives and ease of doing business in Balochistan. He expressed optimism that the meeting would pave the way for long-term institutional partnership and mutually beneficial projects.
BBOIT delegation included Liaison Officer Aamir Kashan, Ms Asma Riaz and Ms. Zunaira Sarfraz . Those present from ICCI side included Executive member Zulqurnain Abbasi, Waseem Chaudhry, Ishaq Sial and ICCI member Israr-ul-Haq Mashwani.
